2021 has been particularly hard, and it has taught us some important lessons. How about stepping into 2022 with this checklist of how to stay content and feel happy?

The previous year was full of Challenges & possibilities. Don’t just make resolutions, make an Action plan!

Children and adults both should always keep doing new things. It is vital for growing. New Year comes with new Beginnings, this is the best time of the year to start Healthy Learning Habits. So Pals, Here are the 3 most important things Children must start doing in 2022:
1. Develop a habit of reading at least 3-5 pages of any good book everyday-

Young readers are often more intelligent as adults. Reading to children is a proven way to improve their cognitive skills. Children who are read to at a young age then go on to develop a healthy reading habit as they go through school develop critical thinking skills. Those skills continue throughout childhood and into adulthood. Reading Also increases empathy in children

Empathy often comes as a consequence of exposure to people with different experiences than our own. Reading about others on a regular basis allows us to experience other cultures, perspectives, and lives that are different from our own. The outcome of reading biographies, autobiographies, or historical nonfiction teaches us to see the world through another person’s eyes and can often leave a lasting impression on our own thoughts. Reading for just a few minutes each day significantly reduces stress by 68 percent 

2.    Learn a game which will help you have fun and also help you brainstorm

We often have a habit of engaging in video games for passing time. But have you thought of replacing your video game with a board game? If not, try doing it. There are online chess classes available which give you the same experience as playing chess at home. Imagine having a routine chess class everyday where a professional chess trainer teaches you new tricks, tactics in order to play the game. It’s not just the game you learn but it’s also the thinking skills which are developed. Rather than what to think? Your ability to think? Flourishes.

Board Games like chess, monopoly, sudoku are a great way to develop virtues like patience, concentration & social awareness.

The excitement of learning something new each day releases Dopamine because the brain wants to repeat that exciting experience each day which is a great mental and physical exercise

3.    Keep a gratitude journal

Starting and maintaining a journal can be difficult at first because it is another thing to remember to do, but after a while of keeping a gratitude journal, I promise you it’s worth it! Keep doing it every night until it becomes a habit. Luckily, writing in your gratitude journal won’t feel like a chore because it’s a peaceful time to just sit and write about all the things that you are thankful for. The words will flow from you and 15 minutes just might turn into 30. “Gratitude works its magic by serving as an antidote to negative emotions. It’s like white blood cells for the soul, protecting us from cynicism, entitlement, anger, and resignation. It lowers the stress levels, makes you calmer. It helps you gain a different perspective towards what you truly appreciate in life. It helps to become more Self- aware. Developing a habit of appreciating the good things can be well executed through a journal.

Habits form a very big part of growing up. They help to shape us into the adults we are today. Taking care about what we follow from a young age is crucial. Incorporate these habits in this new year and let us know what impact it has had on you.
